Visited the Venice, Florida airport today, the place where Mohammed Atta and Marwan al-Shehhi, the two hijackers who flew the planes into the twin towers on 9/11, learned to fly.
One of the planes they trained in, is still there, sitting in the hangar. I spoke to Bob, one of the maintenance guys at Venice Airport. Listen here to what he told me (partly in Dutch, raw edit, 2.35 min).
I went to Venice because I am working on a radio documentary for Dutch radio on Rudi Dekkers, the owner of Huffman Avation, the flight school where Atta and Al-Shehhi trained. Stay tuned for more.
